Getting Blown Away!

I will try to get a new post up later, either today or tomorrow. We've been busy here...John & Tina have been visiting over the weekend. We had a great visit! (Ate too much and could hardly wiggle, but still managed a few visits down to the barn where John and Skittles chummed around a bit.)

Starting yesterday we have had winds of 60+ mph! The sheep were kept in the barn yesterday and today will have to be the same. The wind chill factor is terrible! Even with the wind blowing, I removed 1 inch thick ice from Skittles and Colin's water tank at 9 a.m.! And I darned near froze my nose trying to feed this morning. I felt like Marcell Marceau in his "Walking Against the Wind" bit trying to make it back to the house. Oi!

More later...I need a hot cup of coffee and to get a fire going to keep the heater from running constantly.

Brrrr! The weatherman said we may actually warm up a bit and have sun this week. I think we'll still end up with one of the wettest Octobers on record.

I need to take a photo and finish a new post. Yes, I am re-entering the land of the living....

Well, it was 57 degrees when we landed in B'ham tonight - guess we brought all that warm Airy Zona weather home with us. Had a GREAT time - Thanks Kathy & Ralph for your hospitality! T & J

Wow, that is crazy! We've been having unseasonably warm temps here, although this week is more fallish with temps in the 50s. Still it feels a long way from winter and to hear you are already busting ice off the water tanks... ugh.. I feel for you!

Wow, ice! And wind! And wood heat! We feel lucky to get down into the 50s at night. Ah well, there's nothing like geography to keep things interesting.
