Happy Birthday to the Bonzo Brothers!

One year ago today, under our front deck/step, a hungry, dusty, very pregnant young cat, abandoned by her humans, delivered her kittens. Young and on her own, not even a year old herself, she raised six beautiful babies, all safe and secure in her well chosen den. About mid-May, two humans not only trapped her, but removed said decking and nabbed her six babies as well. That's how Mama (aka Daisy May) came to live with us.
And as those kittens grew, we were able to find good homes for all but two of them: Mooch and Rascal.

I can't imagine life now without Daisy and the "Bonzo Brothers", as we affectionately call Mooch and Rascal. They have added to our lives in richness and warmth with their antics and love.
You did good, Mama...

...now will you move so I can have some of my own pillow?

What wonderful kitties ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY From the cozy cottage snot queen Miss Peach. Thank Kathy for coming by to see us. We are so grateful for our friends who love us and we treasure your friendship. We are doing very well after our worrisome week past. Dennis is relaxing doing what he enjoys best...woodworking and messing with his pond. I finally get some projects made for the living room YEAH! A shadow box coffee table and some tall cabinets to house the new TV.
Peachy is getting better finally after two weeks of misery. Our precious Lord gives strength in proper portion for each situation...I am so thankful for that.
I have sread your blog back to Christmas and see that you have had quite the time of it too. A beautiful granddaughter!!! A wonderful trip to lands far away and an in house rehab patient:) Life rolls along and we sit in the seat. That is a roller coaster seat for sure. Life is good with the freezer full of lamb chops, fresh eggs and hearts full of love!
Love to all from the cozy cottage!!

Kitty festivities were in order yesterday as well at the home of Rascal and Mooch's sisters, Pip and Dora. Bug hunting, squirrel baiting and snoozing in the sun were all part of the first-birthday fun for the Doodah Sisters. Thanks, Kathy and Ralph, for saving these delightful creatures! - Melanie & Mark

I can't believe that a year has passed already - that's scary. My daughter's family just had a neighbors cat adopt them, and then she gave birth to three kittens under my granddaughter's bed. They already have two cats of their own and have gained the reputation of being the "old cat lady family" at her work. I don't know what they'll do as my grandkids adore every kitten.

Can't believe it has been a year already. What lovely fellows they turned out to be, and it sounds like they are doing their jobs of blessing you in return. It was good to see updated pictures of them.

Oh, oh, oh! Rascal and I missed this. But we've been busy moving, so I've missed almost everything going on around the blogosphere. :)

Anyway, what great kitties! Happy Birthday!
